At Borusan Cat, we believe that sustainability is not just an environmental issue but a necessity for the world. Guided by our company purpose,
"We Create Solutions for a Better World", we keep sustainability at the core of our business.
Aligned with Borusan Group’s i³ (Climate, People, Innovation) framework, we are committed to creating environmental and social value.
With the goal of building a sustainable future, we fulfil our environmental, social, and economic responsibilities by taking active steps in resource efficiency, environmental awareness, and community engagement.
- As Borusan Group, we signed the United Nations (UN) Global Compact in 2006. This commitment forms the foundation of our vision for sustainability and responsibility towards global challenges. You can find more details about our journey through this link.
- Borusan Group's Integrated Annual Reports transparently share our environmental and social impact goals. As Borusan Cat, we are committed to openness in reporting our sustainability efforts.
- Equal Borusan Platform, established in 2015 to raise awareness and support gender equality, aims to build a future where social roles and perceptions do not hinder equality and diversity. Under this platform, both Borusan Group and Borusan Cat continue to implement comprehensive initiatives.
- Recognized by The Green Organization, which rewards best environmental practices, Borusan Cat was honored with the "Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice" and earned the title of "The Green World Ambassador" . (2022)
- As Borusan Cat Türkiye, we are proud to be the first company in our sector to receive the "Equal Workplace for Women" certification. This achievement comes because of an independent audit conducted in collaboration with the Sustainability Academy and Intertek. (2024)
- We ensured that all our facilities in Turkiye comply with the Zero Waste Regulation, obtaining “Zero Waste” Certification. We separate waste at its source, create temporary storage areas for proper recycling, and minimize waste through environmentally responsible production processes, promoting a sustainable future.
*The Zero Waste Regulation is a set of guidelines and standards aimed at minimizing waste production and promoting efficient waste management by encouraging reduction, reuse, and recycling practices. It typically mandates the sorting of waste at its source and the proper disposal of materials to achieve a “zero waste” goal, meaning no waste is sent to landfills or incineration.
At Borusan Cat, we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and taking steps to minimize our ecological footprint.
We are simultaneously running several projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions. By the end of 2030, we aim to achieve savings equivalent to the carbon dioxide consumed by more than 950,000 trees.
Our goals in combating climate change include:
*Component Rebuild Centers are specialized facilities where used, worn-out, or malfunctioning equipment is inspected, repaired, or refurbished. These centers extend the lifespan of machinery and components by restoring them to optimal working conditions, contributing to the circular economy by reducing the need for new production and minimizing waste.
We prioritize the efficient and effective use of water. To achieve our goals of sustainable water management and reducing environmental impacts, we have implemented rainwater harvesting at our CRCs. By using the collected rainwater in machine washing processes, we prevent the waste of clean water and save tons of water. As Borusan Cat, we support the conscious use of water resources, contributing to the healthy future of our planet.
Plastic Waste ManagementTo reduce plastic consumption, we have eliminated the use of plastic bottles in our facilities and transitioned to thermos and water purification systems. We are producing personalized thermoses and water bottles for Borusan Cat colleagues, aiming to completely stop plastic bottle usage across all our facilities.
Solar Energy SystemsWe aim for the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly technologies across the industry. To promote clean energy sources, we are installing solar energy systems. At our Adana facility, we meet our needs with green energy, incorporate solar energy solutions into our portfolio, and offer them to our customers, contributing to sustainability.
At Borusan Cat, we work with a vision of creating a fair and accessible world, regardless of gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or age. As an organization that believes in people and success through people, our sustainability strategy is built on creating value for our employees, customers, society, and the environment while shaping the future of business processes.
Our people-oriented goals include:
We prioritize social impact and actively work towards gender equality in the regions where we operate. At Borusan Cat, we promote an inclusive work culture while supporting equal opportunities for professional development.
We are taking pioneering steps to promote equal opportunities in the regions where we operate. By combining our industry expertise with job opportunities provided by our leading customers, we take steps to increase female employment and promote equal opportunities. In this context, we implemented our "Women Heavy Equipment Operator" training program in Türkiye, where female operator candidates receive all their theoretical and practical training from Borusan Cat trainers. In Kazakhstan, we contributed to expanding women's employment in the sector with our "Women Dump Truck Operator" training program for those working in open-pit and underground mining sites.
On our corporate blog, theBClog, we aim to raise awareness by sharing sustainability-focused content alongside our achievements and areas of interest. Published in three languages and accessible to everyone, our blog page covers topics such as recycling, green energy, carbon emissions, water conservation, waste management, and sustainable development.

We understand that being "environmentally conscious" is not just about developing new technologies—it also requires transforming the way we work. While striving to create value in everything we do, we implement digital transformation projects that prioritize human contribution and continuously update our business processes accordingly.
Inspired by the idea of going beyond existing business models and designing the future of work, we actively promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
Our innovation-oriented goals include:
At our Component Rebuild Centers, we contribute to the circular economy through our B’Daha Exchange Program by refurbishing end-of-life machines and parts. We offer renewed parts as a guaranteed and more cost-effective alternative under the assurance of Borusan Cat. By giving these products a second and third life, we help our customers save both time and costs while also contributing to the reduction of carbon footprints.
At Borusan Cat, we adopt a proactive approach rather than the industry-standard reactive model, where issues are addressed only after a failure occurs and operations come to a halt. Instead, we identify potential failures before they happen and provide solutions to our customers in advance. By integrating our customers into the lifecycle of our digital solutions, we implement an interactive business model across all our operational areas.
Some of these applications include:- Boom360 Super App, which allows customers to manage all their needs in one platform, turning time into profit;
- Sound Diagnostic, a patented algorithm within Boom360 that actively collects sound data from the field and predicts failures within just 30 seconds of listening,
- RFM-S, which forecasts sales opportunities for customers considering a new machine purchase or second-hand rental and
- VisionLink®, a fleet management system that leverages satellite technology to generate reports on failure notifications, hourly fuel consumption, and machine operating hours.
You can contribute to a sustainable future by applying these principles both at work and in your daily life.
Be informed: Measure your personal and corporate impact and plan what action to take.
Optimise: Reduce fuel and energy consumption by optimising how your vehicles, possessions and machinery consume energy.
Refuse: Refuse to use unnecessary materials and resources; choose environmentally alternatives over disposable products.
Undertake implementation: Implement simple practices: employ waste management systems at work and sort your rubbish at home.
Save Water: Choose techniques and products that save water and take steps to reduce water consumption in your daily life.
Alleviate: Review the production and reuse processes at work. Choose reusable products in your daily life.
Net Zero Emissions Target: Drive low-emission or emission-free vehicles and make use of the environmentally friendly transportation options in your life.
Courage: Motivate your family and teammates over sustainability; create communities or join exiting organisations.
Advance: Follow sustainable technologies and make your vehicles and possessions efficient.
Transition to Clean Energy: Switch to clean energy by using renewable energy systems (solar panels, wind turbines).
